Lucas Barzan

I’m a Full-Stack AI Engineer with 6+ years of experience building production software across AI, fintech, and healthcare. I’m a hands-on builder who enjoys taking products and systems from early ideas and architecture decisions through implementation and production.

I’m currently at Satsuma.ai, working on systems that connect companies’ existing products and APIs to AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), combining full-stack engineering with the evolving AI ecosystem.

Previously, I spent over four years working on GooRoo Crédito’s payroll lending platform, helping build it from the ground up into an ecosystem of around 15 microservices and contributing to systems that supported a 5x increase in monthly revenue. My work spanned back-end services, integrations, databases, cloud infrastructure, and user-facing applications. I also built an AI document analysis pipeline using AWS Textract and OpenAI to transform payslips into structured, validated data for credit analysis.

I’m comfortable owning features end to end, from database design and APIs to front-end experiences, primarily using TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS. I’ve spent my career working remotely and have experience collaborating with international teams, with a strong focus on clear communication, autonomy, and ownership. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of product engineering and AI, turning emerging technology into reliable, useful software.

Beyond my professional roles, I’ve independently built and launched several consumer-facing apps with thousands of downloads, including one that reached 200,000+ installs and was later acquired by an international client.
